Add a Google Ads tag

Updated 2026-09-14

A Google Ads tag lets Google see what happened after someone clicked your ad — visits to your event page, and, with a conversion label, the purchases that followed.

Add your tag

  1. Open your event, tap More, then Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Tracking group.
  3. Tap the Google Ads tag row.
  4. Fill in the fields:
    • Google Ads tag ID — required. Starts with AW-, like AW-123456789.
    • Purchase conversion label — optional. Looks like AbC-D_efG.
  5. Save.

The row shows your tag once it's set, or Not set when it's empty. To stop tracking, clear both fields and save.

Where to find them

Both come from your Google Ads account. Open Goals → Conversions, open your purchase conversion action, and choose Tag setup → Install the tag yourself. In the snippet Google shows you:

  • the tag ID is the AW-… value
  • the conversion label is the part after the slash in send_to: 'AW-123456789/AbC-D_efG'

Copy just those two values. Paste the whole snippet and Vibez will tell you which part it needs.

Why the conversion label is worth finding

The tag ID on its own lets Google see visits to your event page — enough for remarketing and building audiences. The conversion label is what reports each purchase with its value, so Google can bid on sales and show you ROAS. Without it, tracking looks installed but measures nothing you can act on.

What we send to Google

Google has no standard event names, only the conversions you define.

  • On your event page, the tag loads and registers the visit. That powers remarketing and audiences; it isn't a conversion on its own.
  • On a completed order, one conversion goes to AW-…/your label, carrying value, currency, and transaction_id (the order ID). It fires only if you've set a conversion label.
  • Nothing fires when checkout starts — that would need a second conversion label, which we don't ask for yet.

value is the total the buyer paid, including the platform fee, so Google's revenue figure sits above your payout by that amount. It's the same number we send Meta, so the two can't disagree about what a sale was worth.

With no tag set, nothing loads and nothing fires.
